The Acer Aspire Timeline M3 ultrabook will start shipping by the end of this month, Acer has announced. The M3 is reportedly the first ultrabook to ship with the next-generation NVIDIA GeForce GT640M Kepler graphics.
The Aspire Timeline M3 is a thin and light laptop with Intel’s latest Core i-series processor. While most ultrabooks on the market has 13 or 14 inch displays, the Timeline M3 has a larger 15 inch display. It has also got a built-in DVD drive.
The GeForce GT640M supports the NVIDIA Optimus automatic graphics switching technology. That means you don’t have to reboot the computer to switch between the integrated and discrete graphics options. While performing GPU intensive tasks, the NVIDIA graphics will automatically kick in.
The notebook will reportedly be available in at least two models. While one of them will have an SSD, the other model will sport a large hard drive with a performance enhancing SSD cache.
